Hijas de la Tierra
Performance for Solo Conductor and Motion Capture
Hijas de la Tierras is an electroacoustic and mixed contemporary music show based on the play In Vitrum by Sirah Martinez Alvarez. It is a concert and a performance in three parts about the link between ecosystems in danger of extinction, the migratory processes that result from them and the abuse of power.
Based on a text by Valéria Canelas, In Vitrum describes the experiences of an expatriate woman and denounces the danger of the disappearance of the forests, mortifying policies and the abuse of patriarchy.
A cross-disciplinary exploration of text, music and movement, the central piece is inspired by Light Music by Thierry de Mey, whose piece Silence Must be we will also be performing. In this piece for solo conductor, Thierry De Mey continues his research into movement at the heart of the musical “fact”, turning towards the audience, taking the beat of its heart as his pulse and beginning to play increasingly complex polyrhythms.

Finally, to put an end to this tribute to the earth, there will be improvisations with sound transformation in real time and Gonzalo Bustos' piece Temps de terre for cajon and electronics to round off this poetic and engaging sensory experience. Temps de Terre is a proposal to anchor ourselves in a territory, a present time that resists any idea of waiting.
