Tres jotas
Casual music for strings and unusual percussion instruments

Tres cuori is a wordless melodrama, a journey of emotions illustrated by music that is as tender as it is lively, defiant as well as consoling, earthy as well as light. Guitarist, violinist, and percussionist deliver their wanderings between inspired melodies, frenzied rhythms, and playful, irreverent styles.

The program draws heavily on Italian, Spanish, and English repertoires from the 16th to 18th centuries. Gaillardes, fandangos, ricercars, tarantellas, folias, and grounds form the backbone of the concert. These pieces, often designed as supports for improvisation, leave plenty of room for diminutions, instrumental dialogues, and rhythmic playing.

This ancient material is complemented by a few more modern pieces from Latin America (Barrios, Falú). They naturally extend the journey and remind us that early music is not a thing of the past, but a source that is still alive today, capable of nourishing the gestures and rhythms of the present.

Tres cuori offers a lively concert, where the intimacy of early music meets a direct and contemporary energy. It is through the complicity of this trio of music lovers, with their virtuoso hands, dancing movements, and communicative creativity, that we are invited to share in the experience.
